| Website Building: A professional looking website is critical to the success of your online business. Many affiliate programs include professionally-designed templates which were created at a substantial cost by web designers. When you are designing your own website, you probably can't afford to hire a web designer. That doesn't mean you can't have a "knock 'em dead" website. If you have some basic HTML knowledge, you can easily, and affordably, create your own website, just like I did. Here are a couple of website template resources to consider: Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) Many of you are paying a monthly fee for internet access. In most cases, this fee entitles you to several free email addresses as well as somewhere around 10MB per email address for web hosting. Check with your ISP. Most ISP's that offer this feature also have simple website building templates that you can also use FREE of charge. These are a bit restrictive, but it's a fast, easy and FREE means of getting a website built quickly - even if you don't know the first thing about HTML. Tutorials usually accompany these website builders and many walk you through step-by-step. Website Templates If you are comfortable with at least basic HTML coding, you can grab a free or purchased template from many different sources. These templates include at least single index page and all of the graphics required to create a professional looking website. You must replicate (copy) and write all of the HTML code to produce the web page content. You will also need an HTML editor, such as Notepad, in order to edit and create your web pages. Here are a couple of free template sites: If you have a few bucks to spend, try a purchased template. Some sources I have used are: For the free or purchased templates, you will need an HTML editor. Notepad and/or Wordpad comes as an accessory on most PC software packages these days. Website Color Pickers: In HTML, colors are often expressed in a hexadecimal code. For example, black is "#000000" and white is "#ffffff". That's easy enough, but you might want to find colors that match or coordinate with your background or template. Or you may want to skip the templates completely and make your own solid colored backgrounds. Here are a few websites that can help you find colors that actually go together without sending your visitors running from the room in terror!! :) The Color Schemer Project Cool Developer Zone Web Monkey Color Speak(try this for fun...) Again, web search engines are another way to find color pickers or color scheme selectors. Have fun!! Autoresponders: Autoresponders provide a means of automating delivery of marketing messages, tutorials, e-courses, and more. In short, you set-up a unique email address and text to be mailed out when someone mails to that address. In your advertising links, you provide the unique autoresponder address. Your prospects will send to your autoresponder email address and presto - without further intervention from you, your message(s) is delivered automatically to the requester.
